Cascade Clamps - Founded in Portland, Oregon in the year 1943, the Cascade Manufacturing Company started as a small machine shop employing just 4 individuals. Overall sales for that year totaled 60 thousand dollars. The very first recorded sales revenues involved the assembly and machining of stainless steel valves, pipe fittings and different components. Through five years of operation, the company had stretched to forty employees and their yearly sales volume had risen to three hundred thirty thousand dollars. Nowadays, Cascade is amongst the top global manufacturers in the material handling business.
Production and design of the company's first hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive pursuit of new business opportunities. During the last 60 years, the material handling industry has grown into a very complex field and Cascade has proudly played a part on this progress. Cascade presently continues to grow as the best provider of lift truck attachments and various associated items. Through the 1950's, Cascade began to make, design, and advertise its hydraulic accessories. A new facility was made in the year 1956, to accommodate all the plant offices and operations in Portland, Oregon, which remains to be the company's current head office. After fifteen years of business, total employees reached 180 staff and sales had reached nearly $2,300,000.
A second manufacturing plant was built in 1959 in Springfield, Ohio. nineteen sixty marked Cascade's initial transfer into the international world of the material handling industry while the company recognized interest in England, Australia, and the Netherlands.
In the year 1964, the company altered its name to the Cascade Corporation. Then in 1965, the business went public with a preliminary offering of two hundred thousand shares of common stock. Since then the company has expanded its manufacturing facilities throughout the continental US to the locations Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already current plants in Springfield, Ohio and Portland, Oregon. Cascade products are made worldwide due to numerous subsidiary operations. In the year 1944, a new facility was accomplished in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European command center. This plant is designed to be the essential customer support centre.
Cascade further expanded their product base in 1996 and the year 1997 after acquiring five firms, which included the Kenhar Corporation, the worldwide leader in forks.
